Who We Are

BagpipeJudge (www.bagpipejudge.co.uk) is an AI-powered bagpipe performance analysis service. We provide automated critique and scoring to help pipers improve their playing. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data.

What Data We Collect

We collect the following types of personal data:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and piping grade/level
  • Audio recordings: bagpipe performance recordings you upload or record through our service
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps of interactions, and device/browser information
  • Payment information: processed securely by Stripe; we do not store card details

Why We Collect It

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • To provide the service: analysing your recordings and generating performance critiques
  • To improve our analysis: refining our AI models and evaluation accuracy
  • To send notifications: critique completion alerts, account updates, and service announcements
  • To process payments: managing subscriptions and billing

Our legal basis for processing your data is the performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for) and our legitimate interest in improving the service.

How We Store Your Data

Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Our infrastructure is hosted on Vultr servers located in the UK/EU. We use PostgreSQL for structured data storage with industry-standard encryption and access controls. Audio files are stored in secure object storage with access restricted to authorised services only.

Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services, strictly as needed to operate BagpipeJudge:

  • Stripe: payment processing. Stripe handles all card details under their own privacy policy.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery (critique notifications, account emails).
  • Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered analysis. We send extracted audio metrics and features to the AI model for critique generation. Raw audio files are not sent to Anthropic.
